Book Review of Water Signs: A Story of Love and Renewal

I’m grateful for this book review of Water Signs: A Story of Love and Renewal from a new reader, to whom I gifted a paperback copy:

I finished Water Signs last week. What a story; what a life! As I read, I loved feeling all wrapped up in it as if it was my memory too. You my dear are a great writer! Loved the happy ending that tells of true unconditional infinite LOVE of family and friends and life!

Really inspired me to thinking, for all the rest of us living just day by day or thought by thought, what would our story look like if we took time to put together the thoughts that turn into sentences that turn into days, months, years of occurrences – our life’s story. Wow!!!

LOVED LOVED LOVED Water Signs. Waiting for the movie!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Judith, for this amazing feedback ~ even after all these years, when I receive a glowing review like this, it’s an exhilarating feeling. And yes, like most authors, I have fantasized about the movie possibilities. For now, I’m happy to bask in the glow of another 5-star book review.

In Sam’s Shoes: A Novel by Brooke Horton, Now on Amazon

I’m excited to announce that this contemporary romance is now available on Amazon.com:

Small-town Plain Jane Samantha Townsend thought she’d achieved it all by her early 20s. Madly in love and married to a handsome Air Force bad boy with a thriving career and a gorgeous new home, her idyllic life couldn’t possibly get any better – until an unforeseen event rips her entire world apart. Summoning newfound strength and resilience, she embarks upon a personal odyssey in which love comes with complications, appearances often hide reality, and tragic events forge unlikely alliances. Fortified by faith and an unrelenting passion for truth, can she find the courage to stand up to a powerful North Carolina family? Or will her dangerous quest for answers lead to another devastating outcome?

As the ghostwriter, I spent hours interviewing my client to understand the facts of her real story, then figuring out the best way to distill them into a fictional book. In a true collaboration, we made decisions together about characters, character names, plot, location, and outcome. Transforming someone’s life into a fictional story can be tricky, and in this case, we even eliminated a few real-life players for dramatic purposes.

In the end, it’s a compelling tale of Samantha Townsend, a responsible, small-town girl who loves deeply and learns how to navigate through life’s unexpected twists and turns, relying on newfound faith and inner resilience. It was a fun project to work on and I look forward to seeing plenty of book reviews on Amazon.

For those who prefer Kindle, it will be available in that format in a few weeks. Click here to purchase it in paperback.

Congrats and much success to Brooke Horton!

Coming in January ~ In Sam’s Shoes: A Novel by Brooke Horton

I’m thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of In Sam’s Shoes: A Novel by Brooke Horton. Although I posted some excerpts from it last summer, in finalizing the details, I realized it needed some tweaks, including a more compelling cover and a slight change in the subtitle. Whereas before it was “A Story by Brooke Horton,” my new cover designer (who provides stellar design and formatting services) suggested “A Novel by Brooke Horton” was more appropriate, given its length.

This project took over two years to complete, but I’m thrilled that my client is pleased with the final result. It’s an engrossing read, based on her real-life experiences, and I worked hard to do the story justice. I appreciate her patience during the process and look forward to releasing, In Sam’s Shoes: A Novel by Brooke Horton, sometime in January. Stay tuned!
