The Writestream with Kimberly McGath and Daniella Bova – Archive

This past Wednesday, I interviewed Kimberly McGath in the first hour of the show to discuss the importance of cover design in book marketing, particularly for indie authors. Kim, a multi-talented retired police detective, cold case consultant, author, singer and book cover designer, has created a several fabulous covers for Writestream Publishing clients, including the one below.

Before we began our discussion on cover design, Kim made an exciting announcement about a contract for a new TV program on true crime – which means this was her last interview. Thankfully, she’ll continue to co-host Partners In Crime on Writestream Radio Network, with her co-host and bestselling author Sue Coletta.

I appreciated Kim taking the time to delve into the various aspects of creating a compelling book cover, one that will make readers take notice. We also delved into the elements that comprise an effective back cover, including a succinct book description. To discover more about Kim, visit www.kimberlymcgath.com.

In the second half of the show, author Daniella Bova joined me to discuss the third and final book in her excellent series, Storms of Transformation, Cadáin’s Watch. Check out the book trailer below:

Michelle and Jason escaped the wreckage of their beloved hometown and are determined to live free. Though they are hunted by the totalitarian bureaucracy, they vow to resist oppression no matter the cost. But insidious evil still threatens. Once proud Americans are hopeless and unwilling to fight, making it that much harder for the rebels in their quest for Liberty. And so, God intervenes, and the angel-warrior Cadáin is sent to watch over those whose spirits are unbroken.

The Writestream with Daria Anne Welcomes Book Publicist Michelle Kulp on April 5

Please join us on Wednesday, April 5 at 11 AM Eastern:

According to Forbes Magazine, your book is your new business card. Are you a busy entrepreneur looking to enhance or expand your business by publishing a book but don’t know where to begin?

Tune in for the debut of The Writestream with Daria Anne on Wednesday, April 5 at 11 AM Eastern when she welcomes Michelle Kulp, author, book publicist, entrepreneur and 6 Figure Woman.

Michelle Kulp, Is an International Book Launch Expert, Book Publishing Specialist, And #1 Bestselling Author.  Michelle Teaches Women (And A Few Select Men) How to Build a Business That Nourishes Their Soul & How to Become a Highly Paid “AUTHOR-ITY” In Their Field!

Motto: Work Less, Make More

Michelle Kulp helps experts, entrepreneurs, consultants and coaches write, publish and promote their books and become #1 bestselling authors!

Through her “Amazon Bestseller Program” she helps authors create a back-end income stream with their bestselling book as well as leverage their new bestseller status. Her Amazon Bestseller program is a one-stop shop for authors who don’t have the knowledge, expertise or skill-set to publish and market their own books. Michelle takes her 12 years of online experience and provides a much-needed service to experts who want to use a book to attract new clients, elevate their credibility and create a new income stream.

Michelle is the bestselling author of several of her own books on Amazon including: #GirlBoss In Training, Quit Your Job and Follow your Dreams: A 12 Month Guide to Becoming Joyfully Jobless; I Love Myself When; Woman Take Hold of Your Power, Ocean Writing, Never Work Again: 6 Secrets to Earning a PlayCheck Instead of a Pay-Check, & Bestseller in 30 Days.

Quote from Michelle: “Having a bestselling book is the best way I know to instantly elevate your credibility and reach thousands of new followers.”

Michelle also works with a handful of entrepreneurs in her 12-Month Mastermind Program, “The Rising Stars”, where she guides them in fast tracking their business goals and dreams in a supportive and action-oriented environment!

Michelle teaches, “Do the work once and get paid over and over because that’s how you leverage time. Without it, you are always going to be trading hours for dollars and there are only so many hours in the day.”

Michelle knows about this first hand as she left a 17-year career in the legal field as a paralegal and legal secretary in 2000 because she was burnt out working in a high-stress environment; through the journey of recreating and reinventing herself, Michelle learned to trust her intuition, put herself first and to believe in and follow her dreams!

She also learned that there is no such thing as an “overnight success” and that you have to put in your 10,000 hours, like author Malcolm Gladwell says in his bestselling book, Outliers, “It takes about 10,000 hours of practice to become an expert at anything!” Although putting in your 10,000 hours won’t guarantee success it will help stack the cards in your favor; that’s where Michelle’s gift of helping women learn to identify their strengths and outsource the rest comes in!

Many clients of Michelle’s have gone on to create successful online businesses. Unfortunately when it comes to making money online, “You don’t know what you don’t know.” So whether they are new to making money online or have been online and just haven’t cracked the code to making 6-figure, Michelle has been where you are and can show you the quickest path to achieving your goals through her guidance, support and mentoring.

Four Years of Writestream Radio

Four Years of Writestream Radio

Thanks to LinkedIn, I received a reminder that Writestream Radio is now  four years old. Between out-of-state visitors and Writestream Publishing projects, I’d forgotten all about it. It’s hard to believe, but at the time I was freelancing as a ghostwriter, copywriter, content writer and blogger. I thought an internet radio network would help my clients (and other authors) become more comfortable with discussing their books.

After publishing the first edition of Water Signs in 2008, I soon discovered that people were as interested in me as they were in my novel — which surprised me a little. That’s when I realized how critical it was for indie authors to put themselves out there in cyberspace and real life. Having spent the previous four years co-hosting a political show, I saw firsthand the power of internet radio to connect authors with their audience. And since many authors I knew had an aversion to public speaking, it also provided a non-threatening forum to discuss their work since it’s off-camera. (Ah, the days before Facebook Live 😉 ).

With that in mind, I contacted Lisa Tarves and John Gresham to ask if they wanted their own shows on the network. After they happily accepted, we began airing the Sunday of the first week of March 2013 with Just Believe with Lisa Tarves.

Sadly, our friend John Gresham passed away in July of 2016, but his memory and voice live on in the form of multiple excellent Military Monday broadcasts, which can be accessed on our Blog Talk Radio Show Page.

Today, our network broadcasts a variety of unique, uplifting, and informative programming:

Just Believe with Ilene Gottlieb ~ The Heart Healer

The Mentor In Me on Writestream Radio

Create Your Life with Tasha Chen

Partners in Crime with Sue Coletta and Kimberly McGath

The Formula with Jefferson Keith Langley

Love Liberty & Lip Gloss with Donna Lyons

Speculative Fiction Cantina with S. Evan Townsend

Get Fit Feel Fabulous with Britt

After a several month hiatus, I’ll be back to weekly hosting on Wednesdays at 11 AM Eastern, beginning on April 5 with The Writestream with Daria Anne. Write. Publish. Succeed. And soon, Kris Kees will be hosting a weekly money/finance program, Kees to Invest. I’ll post more details as we get closer to his debut.

Thank you to all of our exceptional hosts and listeners. We appreciate you and look forward to many more years of top-notch broadcasting!

Do you love true crime stories? Crime fiction? Are you an author of a crime fiction novel with murder in your plot? You’ll definitely want to tune in to Partners in Crime on the Writestream Radio Network, the third Tuesday of every month. During the first hour, Kimberly and Sue will discuss true crime; in the second hour, they’ll talk about crime fiction. They’ll even answer writers’ questions, just like they do on their Twitter chat, #ACrimeChat. You can participate in #ACrimeChat on Twitter every other Wednesday at 3 PM Eastern.

Award-winning crime fiction author Sue Coletta.

Partners in Crime debuts on Writestream Radio Network on Tuesday, October 18 at 1 PM Eastern. Stay tuned for details.

Listeners of my show will recognize Kimberly’s name from her two appearances. On September 20, she joined me to discuss her latest book, Let Them See.  On April 19, we talked about Zodiac: Settling the Score. When I decided to seek out guest hosts to add some diversity of topics to the network, I naturally thought of Kimberly. We didn’t have a show show dedicated to true crime and crime fiction; therefore I wanted to correct that ASAP. With her engaging personality, and extensive experience and knowledge, Kimberly was the obvious choice. I’m delighted that with the addition of Partners in Crime, not only do we get Kimberly as a host, but also the acclaimed author Sue Coletta. We’re excited about serving a new audience and expanding our listener base.

Aside from talking crime and sharing tips for crime authors, this dynamic duo will even throw in a crime puzzle or two. Be the first to call in with the correct answer and win a prize. As always, the call-in number is (347) 945-7246 and the chat room will be open for your participation.

In the meantime, visit KimberlyMcGath.com and SueColetta.com for more information about these multi-talented ladies. I’m thrilled to welcome them to the Writestream family and look forward to listening to their show on the third Tuesday of the month!
