Please tune in to Your Book Your Brand Your Business with Author Stanley Gray on Monday, February 12 at 5 PM Eastern on W4CY.com. Gray will discuss his book, Traits of Darkness: An Epic Fantasy (Gems of Paradise: Book One):

Author Stanley Gray.

An ailing king on the small island of Norteras besieged by threats must fight to save not only the land he loves, but also himself and his legacy, from destruction at the hands of his cruel son. Amidst assassinations and intrigue, prophecies of a messianic dragon have united the religious orders for the first time in thousands of harvests in opposition to the throne. As the stakes grow higher and the odds become increasingly more bleak, a Halfling dragon hunter emerges to lend the king a lifeline. But, this aid comes with a price: the king must help find this elusive dragon.

Complicating matters is the fact that the hunted is no ordinary dragon. He is, in fact, one of the last of the remaining golds, and he has fled his ancestral homelands for the sake of his son. Disguised as humans, the dragon, as well as his wife and wyrm, live as a humble mining family in a remote region of Norteras, adjacent to the mountains.

As the king begins a purge, seeing enemies in every shadow, the last of the golds grows weary of the constant threat of raids from the monsters hiding by the alpine passes, emerging irregularly to terrorize the villages. Teaming up with a raven and a crude foreigner, the dragon must fight as a human to save his family.
Will the king save Norteras? Will the king become the tyrant he believed his son to be? Will the dragon save his family, or be discovered by the powerful forces moving against it under cover of darkness?

Writestream Tuesday: Conservative Biker and Author Tom Tinney

A self-described conservative biker who is also a SciFi author? Yes, they do exist! And on Tuesday, November 3 at 1 p.m. Eastern, I’ll be interviewing one of them on Writestream — Tom Tinney:

Tom is a Biker-nerd (The v-twin powered kind…not a fan of peddling) that happens to enjoy writing Science Fiction and Fantasy. He has edited and contributed to motorcycle magazines, blogs and short story sites about the biker lifestyle. When he began to write books, he found his calling writing SciFi and Fantasy. He has written one book (“Threads”) and is writing three others (“Weaves”, “Blood of Invidia” and “ManaTech: Mages”). He has contributed to numerous published and online anthologies, including his ongoing Webisode’s of the SciFi detective noir “PULPED!”.

His political leanings, as well as his Biker credo, have seeped into the writing and that is why he believes free enterprise, innovation and entrepreneurs will advance us to the stars.

He currently resides in Wisconsin (which sucks 6 months out of the year for riding) with my wife and two dogs. His likes to say “Ride safe, Ride often”. Visit Tom at his website: www.tomtinney.com.

Author Daniella Bova on Steps To Salvation

This latest five-star Amazon review from the author of Tears of Paradox, Daniella Bova, made my day:

In Steps To Salvation I learned a great deal about history. The book opens in the year 2412 in Africa, many years after a worldwide upheaval, “The Armageddon War.” The main characters are all fictional descendants of historical figures from the past and present day, including Adolph Hitler, Charles Manson, Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush and Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

The characters are vividly written. They’re so true to life that I found myself laughing out loud during certain scenes containing the fictional future descendant of President Bill Clinton. In addition to laughing, parts of what I learned made me extremely angry. This book was painstakingly researched. It included facts about world leaders of which I was unaware, even though I’m reasonably up to date on current events as a rule.

Another reader mentioned that Steps to Salvation would be a very good choice for a book club. I agree. Many people of different faiths and backgrounds could find plenty to discuss. Mr. Attia’s ideas are sometimes a bit surprising. I can’t say I agree with every single point he made, but I can and do respect anyone who’s been through a near death experience. Mr. Attia’s ideas for the betterment of society were incorporated in a fresh, engaging way in the Steps To Salvation.

Visit Amazon.com to read the full review and pick up a copy of Shlomo Attia’s book, available in Kindle and paperback. With the holidays coming up, it makes a great gift.
