Four Years of Writestream Radio

Four Years of Writestream Radio

Thanks to LinkedIn, I received a reminder that Writestream Radio is now  four years old. Between out-of-state visitors and Writestream Publishing projects, I’d forgotten all about it. It’s hard to believe, but at the time I was freelancing as a ghostwriter, copywriter, content writer and blogger. I thought an internet radio network would help my clients (and other authors) become more comfortable with discussing their books.

After publishing the first edition of Water Signs in 2008, I soon discovered that people were as interested in me as they were in my novel — which surprised me a little. That’s when I realized how critical it was for indie authors to put themselves out there in cyberspace and real life. Having spent the previous four years co-hosting a political show, I saw firsthand the power of internet radio to connect authors with their audience. And since many authors I knew had an aversion to public speaking, it also provided a non-threatening forum to discuss their work since it’s off-camera. (Ah, the days before Facebook Live 😉 ).

With that in mind, I contacted Lisa Tarves and John Gresham to ask if they wanted their own shows on the network. After they happily accepted, we began airing the Sunday of the first week of March 2013 with Just Believe with Lisa Tarves.

Sadly, our friend John Gresham passed away in July of 2016, but his memory and voice live on in the form of multiple excellent Military Monday broadcasts, which can be accessed on our Blog Talk Radio Show Page.

Today, our network broadcasts a variety of unique, uplifting, and informative programming:

Just Believe with Ilene Gottlieb ~ The Heart Healer

The Mentor In Me on Writestream Radio

Create Your Life with Tasha Chen

Partners in Crime with Sue Coletta and Kimberly McGath

The Formula with Jefferson Keith Langley

Love Liberty & Lip Gloss with Donna Lyons

Speculative Fiction Cantina with S. Evan Townsend

Get Fit Feel Fabulous with Britt

After a several month hiatus, I’ll be back to weekly hosting on Wednesdays at 11 AM Eastern, beginning on April 5 with The Writestream with Daria Anne. Write. Publish. Succeed. And soon, Kris Kees will be hosting a weekly money/finance program, Kees to Invest. I’ll post more details as we get closer to his debut.

Thank you to all of our exceptional hosts and listeners. We appreciate you and look forward to many more years of top-notch broadcasting!

Four Favorite Brands of 2015

In addition to launching Writestream Publishing LLC and adding a seventh show, Get Fit Feel Fabulous with Britt to our Writestream Radio Network, I also discovered some fabulous brands in 2015:

1. Isagenix – “Solutions to Transform Lives”

I came across Isagenix nutritional products in early 2015 via my friend Britt Allen, host of Get Fit Feel Fabulous. At 75, Britt is a dynamic, active achiever who truly wants to help others become healthy and financially secure. In my first month on these products I lost 20 pounds and about 15 inches, and continue to get closer to my ultimate goal. Beyond weight loss, however, Isagenix products provide optimal nutrition and convenience. And the company has excellent customer service. When my last shipment arrived with a damaged box of IsaPRO chocolate (one of the packets had ripped open, covering everything in chocolate powder), I took pictures and called the corporate office. The rep was courteous and efficient: all I had to do was explain what happened and give him the Lot #. He immediately sent out a replacement box – no photos required.

If you want to be as healthy and vibrant as possible, I highly recommend Isagenix.

2. Glowosity Skin Care – My longtime friend, singer/songwriter/actress Ava Aston extended her brand by releasing Glowosity this year. Lisa and I interviewed her on Love Liberty & Lip Gloss twice in 2015 and I started using her products this past July. Having been blessed with beautiful skin, I’d been frustrated in recent years by things like dryness under my eyes. After just a few days of using the products there was noticeable improvement. Now my skin is soft and radiant. Best of all, Ava has priced her line as low as allowed by law to make them accessible to as many people as possible. It’s not network marketing; it’s simply purchasing great products online and having them delivered to your door. And the products work for men and women. Listen to our interview below to learn more.

3. Hummingwell Wellness Bars – I discovered these delicious bars when I met Writestream client Sabrina Hernandez-Cano, co-author of Miami Breast Cancer Experts. Sabrina is an award-winning nutritionist who developed Hummingwell with her friend Allen Breteson (one of the people to whom the book is dedicated). These bars are especially good with coffee but great anytime for either a snack (one bar) or a meal replacement (two bars).

Visit Hummingwell.com for more info.

4. doTerra Essential Oils – Having used essential oils to help with gum problems with excellent results, I was already aware of at least some of their health benefits. However, after attending a gathering via a good friend who swears by their products, I discovered doTerra. Our host, health coach Eve Colantoni, shared her incredible story (which you can read here) and provided an excellent overview of doTerra and the many uses of essential oils. I’m just getting started but so far I love the supplements, orange oil, and lemon oil I’m using. I must say, the highest quality products always seem to come from network marketing companies; in doTerra’s case, they offer the best deals for wholesale customers who just want to use good products.

Get Fit, Feel Fabulous with Britt: Day 12!

Ah, my second Cleanse Day of the week and last one of the month and I feel fine! In fact, I feel better than fine; this morning when I woke up I actually felt lighter. Yesterday, I made time for my Leslie Sansone 3 Mega Miles workout (my favorite), packed into a day of editing, writing, social media managing, and Writestream tasks (including a website redesign in preparation for a marketing collaboration we’re about to undertake).

My point is – if you choose to do the two consecutive Cleanse Days in the first two weeks of the month – it can be done without any changes to your normal routine. I’ll admit I still drink my morning coffee (although I have cut my consumption in half) to give me enough caffeine to avoid a headache but other than that, I’ve not had any problems.

When you join our team, you’ll be added to a secret Facebook group where we share information about the company and the program, answer your questions, post surveys and inspiring photos and videos, and generally assist everyone with anything they need to stay informed and motivated. It sure beats a gazillion emails back and forth, plus it helps to create a community, especially with out-of-state members. No one does this alone. And by coaching others, I also coach myself.

One of the great things about this company is that you can simply buy products and sponsor a few others who want to stay healthy to do the same. Then your products pay for themselves. If that’s all you want to do, it is absolutely fine. My goal at this point is to build a business and develop a residual income to make it a bit easier to live in between writing projects. Eventually I want to reach a point where the writing projects provide the extra income while my business becomes the main source. If your a freelancer, you know how hard it can be to keep the funnel full even as you’re working hard on existing clients’ books, papers, and/or web content.

Last night I came across this incredibly moving and inspiring video. Watch the whole thing; it really picks up around the five-minute mark. Jill is an amazing lady!

Have a great Tuesday!

Get Fit, Feel Fabulous with Britt: Day 10, 5 1/2 Inches Lost!

After just 10 days on Britt’s program, I’ve lost 5 1/2 inches and my fitness pal has lost 4 1/2! I’m thrilled to report that three of my lost inches came from the lower abdominal area which has always been my greatest challenge. It’s also very possible that I’ve lost actual weight but since my personal weight loss/management philosophy is to ignore the scale to avoid becoming fixated with a number (vs. better health and looser clothing), I never weighed myself at the beginning.

No matter. I’m moving in the right direction and feeling even more increased energy with every passing day. The program is simple, easy to follow, scientifically sound, and efficient. The products not only work, they taste great.

If you missed the debut of Get Fit, Feel Fabulous with Britt when we discussed it in more detail, click below to listen. You can also contact me here if you would like to get started. Here’s to increased health and vitality!
