Today is my oldest brother Mark’s birthday and since he’s a huge Elvis fan in addition to being a fabulous father, husband, son, brother and friend, I thought I’d post this in his honor.
Aside from a busy career as a V.P. of Litigation Management for a large company, in the past few years Mark has also discovered and developed a natural talent as a performer, appearing with his kids in several local theatrical productions including The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz. Last fall, he played Reverend John Witherspoon in the excellent musical 1776, and just recently snagged a role in an upcoming production of Annie along with his three beautiful girls.
Needless to say, he’s a busy guy. And not surprisingly, he’s also a patriot who had a huge influence on my political activism, just as my mother did. In fact, many years ago, Mark served two terms as a township commissioner which provided me with my first experience in volunteering for a political campaign. Who knows, maybe we can convince him to run for something at the state level in the not too distant future; God knows we need so many more elected representatives with moral integrity and stellar character at every level of government.
In the meantime, here’s wishing Mark and awesome birthday!
