Bonus: In a departure from the typically merry fare, this year Hallmark came out with a serious yet ultimately uplifting tale of tragedy, death, birth and new beginnings with the film The Christmas Heart, starring Teri Polo as the mother of a teenage son in desperate need of a heart transplant, and Tess Harper as the mother of a young man whose untimely death makes a miracle possible.
