Fabulous Friday — The Peoples Vote.com Edition!

My first week in Brevard County has been so incredibly busy I actually forgot what day of the week it was yesterday! I am loving my new home in East-Central Florida, where people are down-to-earth, friendly and real. No offense to my dear friends in South Florida but now that I am living in a different part of the state, I wonder how I managed to live as long as I did in the land of botox and plastic surgery!

Anyway, Chuck, Marilyn and I have been hard at work preparing for the opening of The Peoples Vote.com office on September 17, doing media interviews, reaching out to contacts both locally and via social media and generally focusing intently on ways to keep growing our membership and get citizens involved in this revolutionary technology platform.

Last night I appeared on both the George Jarkesy Radio Show and The Bella Dangelo Show to talk about our first debate that took place this past Wednesday night. Many thanks to both of these hosts for their continued support and patronage! (Note: Click on George Jarkesy to listen to my appearance there).

During the day yesterday, Chuck and I took a ride over to our Palm Bay office, which is still undergoing renovations ahead of our move-in in 24 days. We were greeted by a painter named Tommy, who is doing an outstanding job on the walls, which are cream and light-blue colored. It’s such a pleasure to see people taking pride in their work and Tommy really appreciated it when we complimented him on his efforts. Although he didn’t have business cards with him, we definitely plan to get some from him in the near future so we can spread the word.

I can’t tell you how exciting it is to not only have a job I love but to actually be a part of a successful start-up in which I am playing a significant part, along with the rest of the team. It’s also a fantastic feeling to work with such talented, dedicated and smart individuals; I have learned more in the past few months about what it takes to build a successful company than I ever could have in a seminar or class. It takes phenomenal effort intellectually and emotionally to keep at it, in spite of the inevitable setbacks along the way.

Love the color of the walls! New carpeting will be installed soon.

During this process I have also encountered nasty naysayers who have done their best to discourage me. But I believe in this company as I believe in Chuck’s vision and leadership. And I have a whole new level of respect for entrepreneurs who roll up their sleeves and make it happen, not only for themselves but for the people they hire and the clients they serve. Yes, Chuck has built it!

Chuck poses in the reception area, soon to be decorated with “Constitution” wallpaper and framed photos of the Founding Fathers!

Already in this past week, we’ve also made some excellent contacts thanks to a good Facebook friend who lives here and went out of his way to introduce Chuck and me to the movers and shakers in Brevard County. That has led to a slew of upcoming events (one in fact, tonight) and a fabulous new hire.

Stay tuned for updates as I will be in Tampa on Sunday and Wednesday with the TPV team. Have a great weekend and don’t forget to register at The Peoples Vote.com!

UPDATE: Readers, apparently my good friend felt a bit slighted that I didn’t mention him by name, which was certainly not my intention. Given the world we’re in today, I make it my policy not to publish names of personal friends on my blog unless I have their permission. Now that I do, thank you Dale Davis for your help getting us connected here in Brevard. Follow Dale on twitter @dale3ddavis.

Hi there, Dale! As you know all you have to do is look in the mirror to know who the Facebook friend is. However, I make it my policy not to publish people’s names on my blog unless I have their permission. I will be sure to update the post now that I know.

      Thanks so much! :)
