Via Twitchy, which links to The Blaze, Bristol Palin has created a video compilation of the photos sent to her by small business owners across America. Last week, Bristol’s Blog had requested that people send her photos of their businesses to prove to our statist president that individuals in the USA are responsible for building their own businesses, not the government. Kudos to Bristol for putting this together!
Following President Barack Obama’s highly criticized “you didn’t build that” remark about business owners last week, some owners have submitted photos of their businesses for a two-minute “I built this” video take down of Obama’s comments.
Organized by Bristol Palin, daughter of 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the video features dozens of photos from a variety of businesses.
“Since the President doesn’t understand how our economy works, let’s take a moment to explain how small businesses are created,” Palin wrote on her blog. “More importantly, let’s show him the businesses we’ve made and who has made them.

I was glad to see a doctor’s practice featured in this video, given the fact that my own dad, son of Italian immigrants worked three jobs to get himself through medical school before going on to build a very successful practice. The same is true for my maternal grandfather who came to the USA at eight years-old, learned English, excelled in school and eventually obtained a degree in pharmacy before opening up his own corner drugstore. He was an avid anti-communist who knew his widowed mother had relocated to a foreign land with him and his two brothers for economic freedom — not to be “taken care of” by government. He appreciated the opportunities he discovered in the USA to achieve his goal of owning his own business and always advised my mother that being an entrepreneur was the way to go.
So happy to see Bristol taking an active role in the political discourse this election season…I hope this is just the beginning of many more excellent efforts!
